when Vince makes up some new recipe the kids say "Dad, you should make a cookbook!" and when I make up some new recipe the kids say, "Who taught you that?"
I think its probably for the same reason that when you spend a long time cooking a gourmet meal, everyone fights over eating it, but when you do hotdogs and mac and cheese, your 7 year old tells you its the best meal you've ever made.
I hear you! When something I make isn't a hit I blame it on a recipe ("Hmmm, weird, I followed the recipe exactly"...even though I made it up) I hate it when my boys crush my mommy ego.
